Why we’re doing this
Boxing, back to the people.
Modern boxing happens behind a paywall. The biggest cards of the last decade have been pay-per-view-only or arena-only, locked away from anyone who wasn’t willing or able to pay $89.99 to watch from home, or $400 for a seat. iVB Boxing was founded to push back on that. The Iconic Boxing Series puts world championship boxing in iconic public spaces, with free admission, broadcast worldwide on YouTube, and a city-scale crowd that you don’t need a credit card to be part of.
The Fan Zone is the centerpiece of that argument. A free, family-friendly day in the heart of Civic Center Plaza, with the world championship card on the screens, the music up, and the city watching together. There is also a separate, declared bid to break the live boxing attendance record, set in 1941 and untouched for 85 years. Read about the world-record attempt.
If you have never been to a fight night, this one is for you. If you have been to twenty, this one is for you too.
