Profile
Inside the ring.
Oscar "La Bestia" Bonifacino is a featherweight prospect from Maldonado, on the Atlantic coast of Uruguay. He turned professional in February 2025 with a second-round stoppage of Matías Agustín Gabrielli at home and signed shortly after with veteran promoter Sampson Lewkowicz, the man credited with building Manny Pacquiao's career.
Bonifacino is also South America's first openly gay male professional boxer, a distinction he has spoken about publicly as part of his identity, not a sidebar to it. His promoter describes his style as that of a counterpuncher with the ability to be explosive when an opening shows.
At twenty-one and undefeated, he is at the very start of his career. The stated goal is to be in the world title conversation within two to three years.
