Profile
Inside the ring.
Charly Suarez is a Filipino super featherweight whose pro career began late, at thirty, after one of the most decorated amateur runs in modern Philippine boxing. He represented the Philippines at the 2016 Rio Olympics, won SEA Games gold three times across two weight classes, and took silver at the 2014 Asian Games.
A career soldier in the Philippine Army before turning professional, Suarez has carried his amateur form into the paid ranks: he is undefeated, holds the WBO International Super Featherweight title (won September 2024), and challenged Emanuel Navarrete for the full WBO super featherweight world title in May 2025 in San Diego, a bout ruled a No Contest. A rematch was ordered the following month.
At thirty-seven he is one of the more experienced names on the iVB Boxing roster, with a long reach for the weight class and a measured, technically polished style shaped by years on the elite amateur circuit.
