Profile
Inside the ring.
Andy Dominguez was born in Mexico City and raised in The Bronx, where he started boxing at thirteen under coach Jose "Lupin" Guzman at the Willis Avenue gym. He now trains in Las Vegas under Ismael Salas, one of the most respected technical minds in the sport.
Dominguez established himself at light flyweight with a WBA Fedecentro title in 2022 and announced his arrival on the international stage in July 2025, when he won the WBC USA Silver Light Flyweight title in Atlantic City via split decision over Byron Rojas, a back-and-forth twelve-round war that was widely cited as a 2025 Fight of the Year candidate.
Now moving up to flyweight for his first major world title attempt, Dominguez carries a 13-1 record and a single career loss into the biggest moment of his career. He has spoken publicly about wanting to use a world title to lift his family out of the neighbourhood that raised him.
